To celebrate an enduring symbol of the British monarchy, the Royal Mint has recently released a stunning one-ounce silver coin featuring the iconic Royal Arms.

A mainstay of British coinage for centuries and a majestic symbol of strength and majesty, the Royal Arms represents the illustrious history of monarchy and heraldry in the United Kingdom.

It acts as the official coat of arms for the British monarch, with its origins lying on the medieval battlefield where it would be seen on shields, banners, and dress. It has evolved through the ages and is a true indicator of power, approval, and duty.

The reverse side of the new coin features the iconic Royal Arms original design by Eric Sewell, reinterpreted by Royal Mint coin designer Timothy Noad, against a radial background, making the truly beautiful design more exquisite. The reverse also shows the fineness on the bottom.

The obverse depicts a right-facing portrait of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, by Jody Clark, against guilloche design. It further shows the denomination of the coin.

Struck in .999 pure silver, the new coin is an addition to the Royal Mint’s bullion range.
