The British Pobjoy Mint has released a magnificent ultra high relief 1 oz silver coin to mark the bicentenary anniversary of the birth of Queen Victoria. Issued on behalf of the British Virgin Islands Government, the new coin commemorates one of the most loved monarchs in British history.

The reverse of the new coin features two portraits of Queen Victoria – one when she was young and the other in her later years. The design includes two sprays of flowers – Hawthorn on the left and Lily of the Valley on the right.

The inscription “1819 – QUEEN VICTORIA – 2019” appears on top of the portraits to refer to the passage of 200 years since the Queen was born. The reverse also shows the denomination of the coin, 10 dollars.

The obverse displays an effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.

The new coin is available as an Ultra High Relief Fine Silver 1oz Piedfort (2oz in total weight). It has a limited mintage of 650 coins.
