A colored image of the popular cheeky Bart Simpson adorned a new 1 oz pure silver coin by the Australian Perth Mint.

The reverse side of the new coin features a colored image of the lovably cheeky Bart Simpson against a backdrop of Springfield’s local convenience store, Kwik-E-Mart. The reverse shows the Perth Mint’s ‘P’ mintmark and Matt Groening’s signature.

The obverse displays an effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II by Ian Rank-Broadley, along with the monetary denomination, year of issue, weight, and quality of the metal.

The new coin is struck in 99.99 pure silver. It has a maximum mintage of only 5000 pieces.

The Simpsons series first aired in 1989 and became extremely popular internationally with its series displayed in over 60 countries and translated into twenty languages.
