The Australian Perth Mint has released a new pure gold coin featuring Looney Tunes’ megastar, Bugs Bugs. An addition to the Looney Tunes series, the new proof quality coin is the sole gold coin in the collection.

First appeared in his famous upstanding incarnation in the 1940 film A Wild Hare, Bugs Bunny quickly became one of the most beloved characters in animation, the wise-cracking trickster delighted audiences in numerous films, television commercials, comics, and video games, becoming Warner Bros.’ official mascot and an enduring American cultural icon.

The reverse side of the new coin features Bugs Bunny smiling and shrugging, with his well-known buck teeth on full display. His shoulders appear to pop out of the concentric rings of the Looney Tunes logo. The design also includes the inscription "BUGS BUNNY" and The Perth Mint’s "P" mintmark.

The obverse of the coin features an effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II by Ian Rank-Broadley.

This coin is struck in 99.99 pure gold. It has a maximum mintage of 750 pieces.
