In honor of the longest-running primetime scripted cartoon series "The Simpsons", The Perth Mint released a 1 oz silver coin featuring the Simpson Homer, with 99.99% silver purity.

The Simpsons first aired in 1989 and became popular internationally with its series displayed in over 60 countries and translated into twenty languages. The maximum mintage of this coin is 5000.

The obverse of the coin portrays an effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, while the reverse of the coin features Homer Simpson raising a glass with his left hand in front of Moe’s Tavern. The popular Ian Rank-Broadley's effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II appears in the obverse of the coin. The reverse was designed by Matt Groening, whose signature appears on the coin along with Perth Mint trademark.

The coin weighs 31.107g with a diameter of 40.60 mm.
