The New Zealand Mint adorned a new 1 oz silver coin with a new design of the beautiful hawksbill sea turtle, combining the appeal of 1 oz of Silver with an elegant design that captures the beauty of the ocean. The new coin is an addition to to the Mint's popular Silver Taku series.

The reverse of the new coin features a new stylized design of a Hawksbill turtle with a beautiful shell pattern swimming through the waters amidst tiny bubbles. It also features an engraved name “Turtle”, the metal quality and weight.

The obverse displays an effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II by Ian Rank-Broadley along with with the issue date, and the face value of the coin.

The new coin is struck in .999 pure silver.
