The Royal Canadian Mint has released a new 2 oz gold-plated fine silver coin featuring two hungry wolves set to prey on an elk. This coin is the second release in the popular Predator and Prey series which captures close-up scenes of the unforgiving reality of predator and prey within Canada’s picturesque wilderness.

The award-winning Canadian artist W. Allan Hancock is behind the beautiful designs of this series. The third and last coin in this series is expected to be released before the end of the year.

The reverse of the new coin captures a dramatic scene of an elk’s last stand against two hungry wolves. The prey is stranded in water, cut off from all escape routes, while the predators cautiously close in on their target. This scene is depicted against the background of the beautiful Canadian nature.

An effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth sets on the obverse.

This coin is struck from 2 troy of 9999 pure silver. It has a limited mintage of only 2500 coins.
