The Royal Canadian Mint has released a magnificent ten-ounce highly pure silver coin plated with gold featuring a painting of a lion by the Canadian renowned wildlife artist Robert Bateman.

The reverse of the new coin features a detailed image of the Bateman’s painting of a lion in Africa as the king of the jungle was stepping into the golden glow in the early morning light. The lion greets the day with a roar in an engraved rendering of Into the Light – Lion, an original acrylic-on-canvas painting by Canadian wildlife artist Robert Bateman.

The reverse also includes an engraved signature of Robert Bateman, along with the year of issue, 2019, and the monetary denomination of the coin, 100 dollars.

The obverse displays an effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.

Different frostings were used in the design of this coin to highlight the distinctive features of the lion. The gold plating provides a golden gleam, giving a better representation of the sunrise of the African Savanna and adding to the beauty of this gorgeous coin.

This coin is struck in 99.99 pure silver, with a limited mintage of only 700 pieces worldwide.

The limited mintage of this unique coin will most likely make it a rare collectible.

This extraordinary coin is a rare opportunity to own an engraved rendering of an original painting by Canada’s foremost wildlife artist and naturalist, Robert Bateman. Each coin is accompanied by a special insert that features a printed reproduction of the original painting, along with the artist’s description of his work and his signature.
