The Australian Perth Mint has released a new 1 oz silver proof coin featuring Lisa Simpson, the smartest middle child in the Simpsons family. This coin is the fourth addition to the popular Simpsons series.

The reverse of the coin depicts a colored image of Lisa Simpson holding a long stack of books in front of her local 'Springfield' elementary school. Lisa appears smiling in the image while wearing her famous red dress and shoes and a white pearl necklace. Like the previous releases of this series, the design includes the Perth Mint's trademark and Matt Groening’s signature.

The obverse displays an effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II by Ian Rank-Broadley.

This coin is struck from 1 troy of 99.99 pure silver and finished to the highest quality of proof standard. It has a limited mintage of only 5000 coins.

The Simpsons first aired in 1989 and became popular internationally with its series displayed in over 60 countries and translated into twenty languages.
