A new coin featuring the famous children cartoon character Peter Rabbit became available in the market on Tuesday. The 50 pence coin, issued by the Royal Mint, is expected to attract the attention of coin collectors.

The coin was issued after other coins featuring the same children character proved to be popular in the market. A series of Peter Rabbit coins have been released since 2016 but with different designs.

This time around the Peter Rabbit is wearing a blue blazer and holding a red handkerchief in his left hand in the coin, which was designed by Penguin Ventures on behalf of Frederick Warne & Co Ltd, Beatrix Potter’s original publisher.

The coin comes in three versions: Silver proof, gold proof, and brilliant uncirculated versions.

The first Peter Rabbit 50p coin was released in 2016 to mark the 150th anniversary of the Beatrix Potter. This coin, which was also released in 2017 and 2018, was updated and became available in the market today. Preorders for the coin started last week.
