The Royal Canadian Mint has released a new 2 oz silver coin featuring a beautiful colored photo of the Alberta's Moraine Lake, taken by famous Canadian photographer and blogger Peter McKinnon. This release is one of a series of three releases that will feature McKinnon’s photos of Canadian natural landscape.

Located in the Valley of the Ten Peaks, the glacially fed lake is known for its brilliant blue-green shade produced by light refraction on tiny particles of rock suspended in the water. Canada is home to some of the most beautiful natural sceneries in the entire world.

The reverse of the new coin depicts a photo of Alberta's Moraine Lake in full color. The lake is surrounded by an edge engraving of the aperture blades of the camera's lens. It furthers shows the signature of Mr. McKinnon.

The obverse of the coin displays an effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.

The coin is struck in 2 oz 99.99% pure silver. It has a limited mintage of 5000 coins.
