An image of the Greek and Roman goddesses Athena and Minerva has adorned a new 2 oz High Relief silver coin. The new coin is the second addition to the Strong and Beautiful Goddesses series. Goddesses Victoria and Nike featured on the first release of the series.

The reverse of the new coin features an image of the goddesses Athena and Minerva with an impressive selective gliding. The two goddesses have their backs next to each other while facing opposite directions.

The obverse displays a profile portrait of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, along with the face value of the coin, 5 dollars, year of issue, 2019, and issuing country, Niue. Beautiful decorations adorn the outer rim of the obverse.

The new coin is struck in 999 pure silver with an antique finish. It has a limited mintage of only 500 coins.

Athena and Minerva were the goddesses of Greek and Roman empires. Athena was widely considered to be the Greek goddess of wisdom, war, and crafts. Likewise, Minerva was deemed to be the Roman goddess of wisdom, crafts, and art. However, Minerva is not considered a war goddess in Roman mythology.
